This cozy 800 sq. ft. second story townhouse is at the quiet end of Pacific Grove. The living room features a gas fireplace that lights at the touch of a switch, providing instant atmosphere. The kitchen has just been remodeled with stainless steel appliances and quartz countertops, and the two guest rooms (Queen beds) share a full bath with a tub/shower.
Resplendent with Victorians and a strollable main street dotted with boutiques, galleries, restaurants, coffee shops, antique stores and a cinema, Pacific Grove is "America's last hometown." This historic village is central to all the attractions of the Monterey Peninsula, and the Lighthouse Villas are a terrific place from which to do just about everything—or nothing at all.
Interested in outdoor sports? Hiking, biking, horseback riding, kayaking, deep-sea fishing and whale watching opportunities abound. You can golf at the oceanside Pacific Grove Golf Course ("the budget-minded alternative" to Pebble Beach)—and you're minutes from the Monterey Aquarium, Cannery Row, and Fisherman’s Wharf. The coastal recreation trail is a ten-minute walk from your front door, or you can hop in the car and explore scenic 17-Mile Drive or the storybook charms of Carmel-by-the-Sea. This is a great location for a short visit or an extended stay.

Lighthouse 4 is a great rental. We were impressed by the cleanliness as soon as we walked in the door. My only reasons for the 4 stars rather than 5 is the back bedroom over the parking area has a Roman shade that allows too much light in for sleeping. Could probably use a blackout shade under the Roman shade. The kitchen didn’t seem as well stocked with dishes, pots/pans and utensils as other places I’ve stayed but maybe this is strictly a rental, not an owner rental where you would find more of these items. All in all, I would stay there again. It is very attractive and quiet even though it’s on Lighthouse Drive.
We are taking your suggestion and installing a blackout blind on the back bedroom window, and will replenish any missing kitchen items. (We encourage all our guests to call our 24 hour maintenance line if they need anything - we can usually deliver within a few hours.)

We had a great stay at Lighthouse 4, it was only a short walk to many shops and restaurants. We really enjoyed the lovely cotton linen and the well fitted out kitchen. The heating was very appreciated as we had overestimated the temperature in Monterey in May.
We Love Pacific Grove

And staying at Lighthouse 4 provided a perfect opportunity to spend a comfortable, reasonably-priced ten days in PG. The apartment was cosy, had a distant view of Monterey Bay and sunrise over the hills in the east; it's on the second floor, over carports, so we felt as if we were in a treehouse looking into the beautiful coast live oak out the living room sliding doors. We live in a very quiet rural area, so it's an adjustment for us to be on a busy street which Lighthouse Avenue is, but the traffic noise does die away at night.
The location is perfect, walkable to downtown PG and the Monarch butterfly grove, and easily driveable to the coastal paths and many other visitors' destinations. We would stay there again. Our only comments are that house keeping should be advised to leave more toilet paper and soap for renters who are staying for longer periods, e.g. our ten days, and the balcony and view would be more attractive and useable if the cobwebs, dust and leaves were cleaned off before rental. I did clean it up myself and enjoyed sitting outside.
The fact that there are only six other units in the building is also a definite, quiet plus. Thank you.
We're glad you enjoyed your stay and apologize that the balcony wasn't cleaner when you arrived (it had been swept a few days before, but nature happens). The oak is scheduled to be trimmed soon, which should help.
As far as supplies, each of our homes is supplied with the following items in limited quantities: dishwasher, dishwashing, and laundry detergent; paper towels; toilet paper; tissues; trash bags; bar soap and liquid hand soap. Our housekeepers leave enough of these products to get you started, but if your stay is longer than a few days, you may need to replenish some of these items.

The unit was clean and tidy. Good location. We felt the kitchen could be better stocked with basic items, specifically : there were no oven mitts, basting brush, and only one tea towel. Everything else was fine. The beds were very comfortable. Thanks.
A great time in Monterrey Area

Perfect location for our adventures of kayaking with the sea otters, whale watching, Cannery Row and Big Sur. Accommodations were clean and had everything we needed to fix our own meals. Also a great place to rest in and still be close to all the sights.

Nice apartment, super clean, good location, the building needs cleaning on common areas, lots of spider webs, very rusty washer and dryer, 10 min walking distance to downtown Pacific Grove, 5 min walk to the ocean.Very close to the 17 mile drive. We realy liked our stay.
We've replaced the washer/dryer with new Speed Queen units and alerted our staff to do a better job of cleaning the common areas.
Better than a Hotel!

This rental was perfect for our small family, much better than staying in a hotel with a child! It is within walking distance to the beach and local restaurants, so we didn't have to use the car much (recommend eating at Hula's, it was delicious). For the trips where we did take the car (to Carmel, Cannery Row, Monterey), the apartment is conveniently located in the middle, so it only takes minutes to get around. It was well stocked with all the necessities and the gas fireplace made for comfortable evenings. Key pickup/drop off was a breeze. Great value!

I would improve a couple of things. The microwave wasn't working properly, and the entry needs to be cleaned (stairway). The cable wasn't installed properly, but luckily the handyman showed up within an hour and fixed it. Overall, the condo was pleasant and fairly priced.

Great vacation place

Apartment was clean, very nicely decorated, equipped with everything we needed. There were three of us on this girls trip and splitting the cost three ways made the stay more than reasonable. We couldn't stay in a motel for that long for that price and have the privacy and feel of our own place like we did at this apartment on lighthouse!

The booking of the property and collection of keys etc was very straightfoward. The appartment was very clean and comfortable. The location meant that driving to most venues/restaurants was required which was a downside for us. Would however recommend the appartment for rental.
We're happy you enjoyed your stay, but would like to clarify (for future guests) that the apartment is only about a half mile from Pacific Grove's charming downtown and a few blocks from the ocean. Many repeat guests choose Lighthouse 4 specifically because of its location: they enjoy walking to the shops, restaurants, cafes, galleries and movie theater. A car (or public transportation) is necessary to visit other "must see" spots on the Peninsula, but we find this is a very good central location for exploring all that our area has to offer.

The apartment was wonderful. It appeared to have been recently repainted and the upgrades, such as recessed lighting, made it feel modern and bright. The kitchen was large enough to prepare meals with ease, although we tended to eat out as much as possible. The apartment is only blocks from downtown Pacific Grove, which has several excellent restaurants. And it is well located for getting around Monterey.
Picking up and dropping off the keys could not have been simpler. The apartment had all the necessary kitchen equipment and supplies.

This 2 bedroom 1 bathroom apartment located at the heart of Pacific Grove is spacious and has great storage space. Plus it's very well equipped and makes you feel at home. And the beds are extremely comfortable! I highly recommend this place.
