The Monterey Bay Aquarium is a hop skip away from this ocean view pied a terre in the heart of historic Cannery Row. Grab your favorite coffee drink at Starbucks right around the corner and visit the seals on a sun-spangled Monterey morning. Watch the sunset, barbecue on the back deck, or walk across the street to dine at the Sardine Factory or the Whaling Station. And when the fog rolls in, get warm and toasty in front of the modern glass fireplace, enjoying the flat screen TV with DVD.
This quiet one bedroom/one bath upstairs condo has ocean views from the bedroom and dining room. Decorated in serene shades of soft blue and taupe with pine and rattan furniture, the beach theme is carried throughout. The well-equipped kitchen has whitewashed cabinetry and pale blue quartzite countertops, while a glass atrium roof splashes sunlight into the dining room. From the floating white chiffon drapes to the ocean blue dishes, the owners of this meticulously maintained “home away from home” have thought of everything.

Highlight of our summer

This was our seventh year of spending a month at 816A Wave Street and we have already reserved it for the month of August 2018. It is wonderful! Management goes above and beyond to make sure we have every thing we need. Ashley and Michele are the greatest!!!We enjoy all of the great restaurants which are within just a few short blocks. The coastal walking trail next to the condo is one of our favorite things to do. We park our car in the parking garage and never use it until our stay is over! And of course the Monterey Bay Aquarium is just next door so we buy annual passes which enables us to visit as often as we wish.It is the perfect vacation spot.
Central and comfortable

This unit is one of the two on the second floor of the house where the Monterey Rentals office is located. The location is very central: the recreation trail runs along the back of the house, Cannery Row is a block or two away as is the Aquarium, and everything one needs is within a walking distance. The downside of this is that it can get pretty noisy, but we think the advantages outweigh this inconvenience. The unit itself is very pleasant, with a nice floor plan that makes the best of the space. The living room furniture is comfortable. The bedroom is very spacious, with a comfortable bed and sufficient closet space, shelves and drawers to unpack into. Off the bedroom is a nice porch facing the rec trail. Regrettably, the outdoor furniture is very much the worse for wear, being left outside uncovered at all times. We opted for getting our own outdoor chairs. There is also a narrow porch on the other side of the house, facing the parking lot. For parking, one gets a card for a public garage two blocks away. One can also park in the little parking lot in front of the house when the office is closed. We had a very nice stay there, right in the middle of all that Monterey has to offer.
We apologize for the inconvenience - new patio furniture will be delivered as soon as the winter rains stop!

We loved this place for our Monterey trip....great location. The condo is well equipped in the kitchen...lots of light and quiet...The staff office is downstairs so if you need anything they are there and very helpful. Plenty of restaurants to walk to...or drive short distances. Will definitely be back.

This was our 5th year at the condo, and we have already reserved year #6. I think that says it all!
The condo is perfect…..has everything we need for a month of bliss. Location is the best, only a block from the aquarium and many of our favorite restaurants. Plus a nice view of the bay from the bedroom and dining area.
And the staff is wonderful! Very responsive to any request.
We refer to it as "Our Condo in Paradise".
We loved the place and the location.

We were so near Canary Row and the harbor. It is a very scenic place to take walks. The big attraction was the aquarium. When we saw the prices, we really appreciated the passes from the condo. For the last 5 years we have stayed at various places for a month during the winter. Your place was number one. The Dishwasher soap dispenser was broken. It was usable.
We love the location too (we work right downstairs)! We've had the soap dispenser repaired, and we apologize for any inconvenience that may have caused. Please come visit us again next winter!
Ocean Wave a Unit is Spectacular

I recommend this unit for anyone staying overnight in Monterey. It's got a little bit of everything--an electric fireplace, a bath, a nice-sized kitchen (given the unit's overall square footage) and best of all it has a great view of the Monterey bay from both the dining room and the bedroom. The staff of Monterey Rentals is superb. They are very attentive and efficient. Other comments on Ocean Wave a--you can't beat its access to Cannery Row. It is less than a block from everything--the aquarium, the bay trail (for running, biking), and all the restaurants & shopping. The decor inside Ocean Wave a is beach/nautical themed, and it's both relaxing and attractive. Rent it.
A great spot to spend a month!

The space was great - living, kitchen, dining, bedroom and deck. We were withing walking distance of the aquarium, restaurants, supermarket and the shoreline walking trail. Our own washer and drier was great. Safe parking in the garage a plus also.
