1700 sq. ft. | 3 Bedroom | 2 ½ Bath | Sleeps 6 (2Q, 2T) Max. Occupancy 7
Experience the vintage charm of Pacific Grove while enjoying all the comfort and conveniences of the 21st century in this beautiful two-story, Victorian-style home built in 2002.
Relax on the deck off the master bedroom, or outside on one of two front porches: you can really spread out in this comfortable home with hardwood floors, a fireplace, and a unique "sun tower" at the top of the stairs. This den/office area, with a wet bar and under-counter refrigerator, is everyone's favorite place to read, chat, or just enjoy the view overlooking this charming neighborhood.
Cherry wood cabinets and a lovely tin ceiling add warmth and charm to the well-equipped kitchen, and the open floor plan can be "zoned" by doors separating the kitchen from the dining area and the living room from the entry way. An instant gas log fireplace in the living room adds ambiance while you enjoy a good book or a movie on cable TV/DVD (available in both the downstairs living room and the upstairs bedrooms).
All three bedrooms are carpeted and located on the second floor (14 steps up to the bedrooms). The master bedroom, decorated in soft tones of rose and green, has a queen-size bed and a private bath with a stall shower. A second guestroom has a queen-size bed; the third has two twins. The guest bath features a shower over tub, and there's another half bath downstairs.
The location makes this Victorian-style home one of our most popular accommodations in Pacific Grove. Upon arrival, you may just want to park your car in the spacious two-car garage and forget about it! Just a block from downtown, you are within easy walking distance of Pacific Grove’s quaint shops, restaurants, the Farmer's Market, and the scenic coastline recreation trail.
If you feel energetic, walk along the coastal trail to the world renowned Monterey Bay Aquarium, exactly one mile from the front door. Along the way, observe marine life - sea lions, seals, otters, and shorebirds. Also within easy walking distance: a grocery store, bakeries, library, post office, ice cream parlor, coffee shops, visitor's center, museum, movie theater, bookstore, parks, playground, and boutiques. (If you prefer, there is bus service just a block away that will take you to the Aquarium and Cannery Row, downtown Monterey and Asilomar Beach.)
If you are a golf enthusiast, bring your clubs! The Pacific Grove Municipal Golf Course is just a half mile away, and a short drive will take you to the world-famous links at Pebble Beach. Don’t miss the boutiques and galleries of Carmel, and on a sunny day, take Highway 1 down the coast to Big Sur. (Mmmm, lunch at Nepenthe – an Ambrosia Burger and a basket of their famous fries!)

Our family of four adults and three teens spent four nights at the Gingerbread house. The place was fabulous! The location was perfect for traveling south to Carmel, Monterey county wineries and points south of San Francisco. Everything about the house was exactly as advertised on Homeaway. Would definitely recommend this place with 5 stars!

We stayed in this house for three days last week and it was really nice. The location was excellent, walking distance to downtown Pacific Grove, stores etc. It was nice having so much space and the price was reasonable for the size house. It was my first VRBO experience and I was a little surprised by the hidden costs and the deposit that I didn't pay attention to when we booked the house but overall it all worked out. I would definitely stay there again. The management company was great too.
We love Pacific Grove.

We were very pleased with this property. It was clean and beautifully decorated. The location was perfect! So close to downtown Pacific Grove and a very short walk down to Lover's Point. The house was equipped with anything you would need. I will definitely keep the Gingerbread house in mind for my next visit to Pacific Grove!

We rented the Gingerbread House so that we may be in Monterey to participate in the Big Sur Marathon. The accommodations were exceptional. The house was clean, modern and close to the beach. My grandchildren want to come back next year and so do we. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable.

We loved the Gingerbread House! It is a beautiful home. The location is perfect. The neighborhood is lovely. And it is a short walk to the ocean. Everything we needed was provided. The kitchen was well-stocked with all we needed for cooking meals. We were impressed with the quality of the linens and towels. The furniture and the accents were pretty, warm and inviting. We loved our first visit to Monterey and hope to come back again. Thank you for offering up this fantastic home. (One tip: Check the local calendar when booking your stay in Monterey. There was a marathon scheduled on the day we departed and we had to leave the property very early in the morning due to road closures.)

Thank you for an amazing stay at Gingerbread house. It was our first visit to America, and after a hectic time visiting Las Vegas and Los Angeles, a week relaxing in Pacific Grove was wonderful.
The Aquarium was a highlight and we managed a day trip to San Francisco and Alcatraz. Swimming and renting kayaks at Lover's Point beach was great because we saw an otter and seal. We went whale watching from Monterey wharf. Our favourite place to eat was the beachhouse at Lover's point. The nearby playground was handy for our little one.
It is so easy to walk to all the local neighbourhood facilities including a 3 screen cinema!
We traveled to Santa Cruz boardwalk for an evening which was easy and fun.
The house was lovely but it took us a while to work the washing machine as we did not have instructions. The garage was really good for the car and meant we could leave any sandy shoes in there. We played chess and checkers in the lounge and we loved the sun tower for morning coffee and reading. The kids liked the cupboard under the suntower.
Booking, key pickup and payment online went smoothly thanks to Monterey Property Rentals. A very efficient service.

We rented the house for my family coming from Spain for five days. When picking up the keys from the main office, it was easy since they left them in an envelope with information about both the house and outdoor activities in Monterey. The house had everything needed and there was enough space for the five of them (there is even a sofa bed ) Two of the bathrooms clogged the first day, we called and In less than a couple of hours they fixed them. The house is located in a nice neighborhood and it only takes a couple of minutes to get to the rec trail. Also, pacific grove has plenty of cute stores and cafes where you can roam around. Regarding the deposit, it is insignificant compared with other places we looked into. The only inconvenient that we saw was that the office closes by four and during the weekend it is also closed. Having said that, we wouldn't be able to have a look at the house until we checked in. However, the pictures posted in the website are the ones you find whe you get there and I have to say that they are amazing. One of the bedrooms gets really hot because it has three windows and since the early morning the sun is already hitting. I fully recommend the place to anyone who is looking for a quite place and liked small charming cities
Excellent property in the Monterey area

My husband and I, along with 2 other couples, stayed at Gingerbread for 3 nights. The house is spacious, clean and attractive inside and out. The kitchen is really beautiful! The beds were very comfortable. (We pushed the twin beds together for one couple and it worked out great). The location can't be beat,.. just 2 blocks from Lover's Point and just 1 block from 2 of the best restaurants in the area. We really couldn't have asked for better accommodations. We would LOVE to come back!

My sisters and I had a wonderful visit. The house was well-stocked, the rooms attractive and comfortable. We were even able to host our family for Christmas Eve. The location is fantastic, a block from Lovers' Point and a block from Lighthouse avenue in PG. The only negative was that third bedroom had only children's beds, not even full-sized twin beds. No adult (and we were all adults) would be comfortable sleeping in them.
We're happy to hear that you and your family enjoyed the holidays at Gingerbread. We've checked and confirmed that the beds are standard size twins - we're very sorry you found them inadequate for your group.

My friends and I enjoyed a great weekend at the Gingerbread house in Pacific Grove. The home is very cozy and easily accomodates 6 people comfortably. I really enjoyed our stay and the location was great. It was only about 2 blocks from Lover's Point. We were also able to get up early and jog to the Monterey aquarium, which was a little more than a mile away. I would definitely recommend this home. The staff were quick to answer any questions we had, I would book with them again.
