After our first rental didn't quite work out, Michelle at Monterey Rentals very graciously arranged for us to move to this great house. The home itself is a remodeled older place, but updated with all the amenities. Our weather didn't allow us to use the patio, but I imagine it would be lovely in the sun. There are views from the upstairs balcony and bath. I am giving Monterey Rentals 5 stars for their professional services, particularly Michelle who was prompt and courteous. Our only minor issues were with the furniture, which like so many rentals is not very comfortable, and the lack of a few kitchen items. We didn't use the stove but it's a beauty, older, in keeping with the age of the house. The neighborhood is quiet and walkable. Our only real complaint is that our visit was too short! Thanks again for your hospitality!Ellen and Michael Massachusetts

Cozy two bedroom house on a quiet street. Just like it says. I would stay here again.Very clean and fully furnished. I was pleasantly surprised there was coffee grounds for the coffee maker! :) Next time I will bring groceries so we can do some cooking.Three bathrooms with a shower and/or tub in each. Lots of towels and amenities in each. I felt like I was in a fancy hotel. Two car garage is very convenient as we had a truck and two motorcycles. The back yard is a quaint little place. We didn't use it but I can see doing a BBQ out there and just relaxing. I'm impressed with the rental company as well. It was very easy to reserve the rental online, quick responses to my emails and easy to understand information/directions. I will definitely use montereyrentals in the future! The only thing I would ask is to respect the checkout time of 11:00AM.There was a gardner in the back yard at 10:00AM and it was a bit un-nerving as there are windows all around. We were ready to leave at 10:30 and the cleaning crew was pulling up to the drive way. If checkout is up to 11:00, I expect to be "alone" until then.
Thank you for your thoughtful review. Our cleaning staff apologizes for arriving before check-out time (it won't happen again), and we've rescheduled the landscapers to arrive between 11 am and 3 pm.

A bright airy house on a quiet street, Harmony House is within walking distance (20-30 mins) of the not to be missed Monterey Aquarium and, in the other direction, the shops and restaurants of Pacific Grove. 2 large bedrooms and large open kitchen served us very well.

This house was wonderful! We have two small children and it was plenty big for us. We were able to walk everywhere, including downtown pacific grove, the aquarium and the beach. My only complaint was there was a jacuzzi tub and we could never figure out how to make it work.
Harmony House - Very aptly named

This old house has been remodeled into a beautiful blend of the old and the new. The end result is a very well built home that has a ton of charm. We ate several dinners here and did not find the kitchen wanting for any of our needs. The central location of the house was great for us and is in a very quiet neighborhood. I think we had more deer in front of the house than cars. The one issue that we had concerned the placement of a Persian rug in front of the front door. When the door was opened, it caught on the rug and made for a dicey entrance into the house. I reported this to the office and I am sure that they will fix the problem soon. We would definitely stay here again!

After a particularly arduous drive down from San Francisco(don't ask)! Arriving at Harmony,we opened the door and was stunned by the fabulous interior. To say it made our holiday would be an understatement,we have felt privileged to share this home with John and Cheryl. The style of the remodelling and the quality of the fabrics and decor gave it a 5* feel. Similarly the housekeeper deserves high praise for the attention to detail, not least, was the table set for dinner, but all the towels, bed linens etc were presented with special attention- even the toilet paper had a bow on it!!! Excellent, efficient service by Monterey Rentals. Thank you.

Booking was easy! So you can get a realistic view: Extra charges to daily price displayed. These were ours for a 8 day booking: Housekeeping $127.00, Utilities(8 x $3.50) $28.00,Taxes 10.000%)$136.08, Reservation Fee $35.00,Security Deposit Protection $49.00. So budget extra in if you've never rented before.
Home was clean and comfortable. Quiet neighborhood. Was the perfect place for recouping after surgery. We'd go out half day, come back take a snooze... go back out again. Pretty relaxing and might like to book in future if able. No smoke smell so that was good. Don't know if I would recommend for small children as they have oriental carpets that slide and warn about extra cleaning charges for dirty carpet. So active little ones with red juice and snack crackers may not be a good idea.
Bathrooms have 1/2 window lace curtains and main shower glass doors, so if you are modest be prepared! Jet tub, but we did not use.
Bedrooms are upstairs and house more toward top of hill. Walking to town of Pacific Grove or few blocks straight down to park by Ocean...just remember you'll have to walk back up hill!(or call a family member to pick you up if limited physical abilities). Cement walk ways are not even.
The upstairs shower did end up leaking through the kitchen ceiling once at one point. You can see pre-existing line of leakage - but once they seal tile near tub with some caulking there should not be a issue. Called maintenance and informed them. Slight musty smell from laundry room area. Faucet in front upstairs bathroom hard to turn and and the "hot" side tile comes off handle on the kitchen faucet. No room to pull mid size van into garage. Bottomed out when pulling in and out of driveway. All minor stuff.
We left the place in pretty good shape so there should not have been much for the cleaning crew to have to do. A blessing to us to be able to stay, worth it and overall it worked for us! Would recommend Monterey Rentals and Harmony Home for a nice retreat.

Need drapes for the bedroom windows in both rooms the light in the morning will wake you up Had to put up a blanket on the windows. Also drapes for the living room by the TV Cannot see the television in the afternoon for the sun.No other problem except would like the PGE included in rent instead of having to deal with them. Otherwise the home was quiet and easy to get anywhere. We loved the home. Very confortable.Would continue to stay there every time we come to Calif.
Thank you, Amy! We have alerted the property owners to the need for alternate window coverings in the bedrooms and the living room. We will also discuss the PG-E policy with the owners. I'm sure we will have those small issues resolved before you come back next year!
