1080 sq. ft. | 2 Bedroom | 1 Bath | Sleeps 4 (2Q) Max. Occupancy 4
This cottage—complete with a white picket fence—looks like it came straight out of a storybook. And the location couldn’t be more enchanting: in just a few blocks you can be shopping, dining, or sipping a latte at one of Pacific Grove’s quaint coffee shops—or communing with seals and sea otters on the coastal recreational trail.
There’s a peek of ocean from the front steps, and a huge backyard with a dining table, barbecue, and four Adirondack chairs around a wood-burning firepit for cozy evenings under the stars. The living room has hardwood floors and a barrel ceiling, the dining room seats six, and the kitchen features stainless appliances and a new five-burner gas cooktop. Both bedrooms have Queen sleigh beds, and the bath has a tub/shower combination.
From the annual Butterfly Parade to the apple trees around Caledonia Park, there's a reason Pacific Grove is called "America's last hometown." A more casual—but no less charming—alternative to Carmel, Pacific Grove is a seaside enclave of restored Victorians and beach bungalows. And the walkable downtown has something for everyone: boutiques, galleries, antique and consignment shops, a cinema, a bookstore—and too many coffeehouses to count.

Lovely, quiet getaway at great price

My family comes down to the Monterey area every summer for a vacation, and we like trying different homes to rent. This cottage was by far the best place we've ever stayed! The location is just a few blocks from the water near Lover's Point, so we were able to go for lovely walks along the shore right from our front door! Everything about this home is wonderful--there is a partial ocean view from the living room; the rooms are light and bright; the home is adorable with curved doorways and beautiful beach-y artwork everywhere; it is very clean and well cared-for; it's in an extremely quiet neighborhood; the beds are comfortable; the kitchen is well-stocked with supplies for cooking and nice dinnerware; the backyard is huge with a nice firepit (which we used to sit outside in the evening); and the price is extremely reasonable! My family loved every minute we were here and wished we could stay longer! We will be back next year! Thanks for a very enjoyable experience!

We had a great stay at this cottage. It is in a perfect location, close to everything we wanted to do. Walking to Lovers Point where they have a trail along the coast every morning was my favorite. We had lots of fun gathering around the fire pit at night talking, and playing games. The beds are comfy and the house had everything we needed. It's a charming house, it just feels like home when you get back from a long day of sightseeing.
We loved this cottage!

My husband, adult daughter, and I recently traveled to the Monterey Bay area to visit our son who is stationed at the Presidio. Because we were there for a full week we really wanted an entire house with a kitchen and room to spread out. Snow White's Cottage was perfect for us!
The home is very well cared for and has everything you could possibly need. There were more than enough towels and linens and a well-appointed kitchen and outdoor grill which helped us save a ton of money on eating out. TVs in the living room and each bedroom were appreciated at the end of busy days and the games were perfect for family time. The back yard and fire pit are beautiful but we never used it because we were so tired each night (there's tons of stuff to do in the area!). And the washer/dryer meant we didn't have to bring home dirty clothes.
The neighborhood is quiet and residential and very walkable. Just a few minutes down the road is Lover's Point Park and the recreation trail where you can rent bikes or kayaks.
The key pickup and drop-off was a simple process. A previous review mentioned a few maintenance issues which we didn't see at all. Everything worked perfectly, was spotless, and we would definitely rent here again. Do not hesitate to book this cottage for your family!
Thank you, Snow White!

My husband and I just returned from our 11-day stay in the cottage and have been eager to write a positive review. The house is perfectly suited for two people, is light, clean and fresh and feels roomy, the back yard is exceptionally inviting and the neighborhood is quiet and comfortable and walkable.
In the spirit of your informational packet that says you don't stay there so would appreciate comments on things that need fixing, we offer:
All the doors squeak, front and indoors, including closets and could be oiled. The furnace filter message is on that says the filter needs replacing. There are ants in the kitchen, maybe a couple a dozen a day, wandering across the counters. Is the water filter in the Brita pitcher ever changed?
These are by no means complaints, just helpful suggestions to make the visits of future renters more pleasant, and that includes ourselves as we will be back in July for a two-week stay. Please thank the owners for sharing their cosy place. Wish we could buy it!!!!!

Lovely Stay at Snow White's Cottage

Hubby and I took the two grandkids for a winter break getaway to Pacific Grove, and stayed at Snow White's Cottage. We've used Monterey Bay rentals before, but this was our first time in this rental. My impression was that it was new in their inventory.
We loved it! It isn't fancy (which the price, on the lower end for Monterey Bay Rentals, reflects, but it is very comfortable. Very nice beds, VERY quiet! Wish I could afford to buy a place like this. It is an older home, with charming details including high arched ceilings. You get a peak a boo view of the ocean from the living room and dining room. You can walk to the ocean (about four or five blocks) or to downtown Pacific Grove (perhaps half a mile or a bit more). Lovely and quiet neighborhood, plenty of off street parking. The kitchen had lots of counter space and was well equipped, with a large dishwasher and a new, sparkling clean gas stove and oven. With kids, most of our cooking was at home. There was a very nice gas grill on the back patio which I wanted to try, but it was cold and rainy much of the time we were there so we never got around to it. Next time! (and there will be a next time, I've already booked a return trip later in the year for the two of us).
A big plus is that there is a HUGE backyard (and a fairly large front yard as well)....kids loved that, even when the weather wasn't great, and when it was nice the adults loved sitting out there. Really pleasant and private. There is an outdoor fireplace, again, something else to try next time! Another plus is lots of storage, including a big walk in closet in one bedroom. All three rooms have TVs, though we only used the one in the living room.
Just a note: the pictures showed an entrance to the bathroom from a bedroom; there is also an entrance from the hall right next to the other bedroom. The bedroom without the direct entrance to the bathroom is actually a bit bigger I think (It definitely has the larger closet) and felt more private to us (further back in the corner of the house), so I was glad we didn't have to walk through a bedroom to get to the bathroom. The set up was great for two adults and two small kids. It might be a little tight for two couples.
Speaking of kids, they loved the picket fence in front and the cottage appearance....my grandson, just turned four, was really convinced that it was in fact Snow White's Cottage. And when we saw dear just outside in the am, he was enchanted!
