This is our second summer renting Ellie's Place.. 1st we love renting via Monterey Bay Property Management. Kyle and Michelle are the best. Ellie's place is a gem of a home. We love the location, we can walk the pups into town or the water front in just minutes. Everything is close, restaurants, the beach, shops, Monterey and Carmel are only 15 minutes away. The home is sweet and bright. Lots of windows and sunshine. Nice size bedrooms and each room has a private bath. The house is colorful and happy and for those cool mornings (that we loved) there is a beautiful and so cozy gas fire place. You can see the Monarch Preserve from the kitchen. The yard is full of surprises, lots of flowers and succulents. And dozens of hummingbirds and birds. The back yard is perfect for us dog owners with a fenced back yard right off the master bedroom. The kitchen is not fancy, but has all you need to make a good meal. Plus the deer are always around and the beach is just down the street.. Ellie's Place is a happy place. We spent 6 very happy" weeks " at Ellie's place.

We thoroughly enjoyed Ellie's Place. Everything about the house itself was attractive, well cared for, and felt like home, right down to the very attractive prints and photos on the walls. We especially loved the remote controlled gas fireplace, to warm us during the cool, Pacific Grove days and nights. The kitchen was well stocked with the usual kitchen items we'd expect to find in a rental, as well as things we might not usually see, such as different teas and spices. We suggest a few more wine glasses if there are more than two adults. The location is beautiful, quiet, and convenient and the neighbors friendly. We also found a couple of things lacking. After using the grill twice, we ran out of propane. And when we used it, we had to clean it first. Also, the bathrooms ran out of toilet paper. Not huge issues, but slight inconveniences. Overall, we give it high reviews and we would definitely use this house again
Loved Ellie's Place!

I'm SO glad I booked Ellie's Place for our stay in the area. Located within walking distance to the heart of Pacific Grove on a quiet little street.....perfect! The home was very well set up, everything you need is there. Comfortable beds, couch, nice gas fireplace....nice little area in the kitchen to sit on your computer. Large backyard - perfect for our dog.....and THANKS for being dog friendly! Ellie's Place is now our "go to" rental whenever we come to the area.

I really enjoyed the house. I found it to be in the perfect location, just off the beaten path but close enough to enjoy everything. The house was tastefully decorated and I will recommend this place for sure ( I already have) There were lots of windows and bright sunshine coming in. The butterfly sanctuary was next door and the backyard had lots of them flying around. I brought my dog and found the house was great for pets.
I am giving it 3.5 stars because there are a few items that I would alter.
1: we were three adult women and the second bedroom had a daybed w/trundle bed; it was very uncomfortable not to mention extremely noisy. The room it was in was very nice and plenty of room for two twin beds or even another queen. 2: We were active during the day and enjoyed the evening relaxing with a fire, wine and hoping to watch a movie. We were unable to decipher the how to operate the DVR. There were 5 remotes on the table and a mess of wires behind ??? I would suggest keeping it more simple or having detailed instruction near the TV. Needless to say we never watched a movie. 3: I have a rental property and have visited many others. When you pay a cleaning fee you should not have to remove the sheets from he bed and place the towels in the washing machine or take the garbage out to the cans. When we arrived we had to put the sheets on the day/trundle bed. They knew there were three of us and that should have been taken care of. It was kind of like summer camp.Other than that I really liked the house and would return but not to sleep on that daybed.

Wonderful stay--seeing thousands of Monarch butterflies in the backyard was a bonus. Our only knock is that there were at least four remotes for the TV and no instructions...we wanted to put on some music and gave up after monkeying with each remote for a few minutes. One universal remote with clear instructions would have been nice.

We absolutely love the location of Ellie's Place! The neighborhood was quiet and friendly, quick jog to run along the beach trails, dogs welcomed the nice big fenced in backyard, and we had more Monarch butterflies to enjoy than when we visited the sanctuary. The property was clean and the sound of the ocean make it even more enjoyable. Quick, easy walks to Pacific Grove dog-friendly cafes we also really enjoyable. For the dogs, we did not have a shovel or doggie scoop to pick up after them in the yard. We did suggest to have something available for renters to use.

We love the quaint and peaceful atmosphere of Pacific Grove. Ellie's Place is perfectly located in the pines near the Monarch Butterfly sanctuary within easy walking distance to the beautiful bay and town. We came for a wedding and shared the house with our adult daughter. The split bedroom/baths floor plan with the living space and kitchen in between was perfect for us. We also enjoyed the spacious backyard and quiet neighborhood. A repeat visit is in our plans.
We liked Ellie's Place so much, we are coming back next year for another 6 weeks.

We found Ellie's place to be a little gem.!! The location is perfect. We can walk into downtown PG and the water front in just a few minutes. And only a 5 minute drive to beautiful Asilomar beach. There are dozen of restaurants and shops within minutes. Carmel and Monterey are just a 10/15 minute drive. Loved the privacy of the yard and specially the court yard off the master bedroom. The house has plenty of windows and sliding glass doors, allowing the breeze to flow through out the house. There are a lot of hummingbirds and other birds. We found the furniture to be very comfortable including the Queen bed in the master bedroom, the sofa and the kitchen is well stocked. The two bathrooms are plenty big. The Wi-Fi is fast, there are 3 nice TV's with plenty of channels. The washer and dryer are huge and fast. And the BBQ was spotless. Monterey Bay Properties took care of us very well. The only two things that I would change about Ellie's place are: 1. I would replace the tundrel bed in the guest bedroom to a Queen bed. There is plenty of room. The twin beds are very comfortable. But when put together to make up the King bed, one is higher then the other and there is not way to lock them together. 2. The driveway needs to be mulched or paved. Due to the drought, the dust is bad. In turn we had to wash our feet, the dogs feet, floors, towels and clothes more then usual.
Beautiful house, great neighborhood

House was wonderful! Beautiful, super close to everything. We walked one day to the waterfront, all the way through Monterey, through Cannery Row to Fisherman's Wharf, and back (~10 miles, a good hike). House is well configured, spotless.
Peaceful home with everything you need while staying away from home.

We loved this house. The neighborhood is so quiet, yet close enough to do everything you need in Monterey. I was there with my boyfriend and adult son for my other son's wedding. Home has everything you need for your stay, and a great layout for guests to visit. The night before the wedding, the bride and groom stopped by with her aunt and uncle for appetizers and a glass of wine. Everything updated and nothing dated in the home. My favorite part was the use of color throughout the house. I would never be brave enough to paint my bedroom walls that shade, but so loved it!
The best place to stay in Pacific Grove

I stayed here with my sisters, niece and my little dog. It was right next door to the Monarch Sanctuary and even though it was off season for them, we saw butterflies every day. It was walking distance to the beach, so we walked every day. The home is beautiful, comfortable and has a great kitchen. Having fenced in yard areas made it easy to have the dog with us. There was ample parking. It was a safe, quiet and friendly neighborhood. I would love to go back!

Ellie's Place was a delightful home. We were there for a wedding in Pebble Beach and where pleasantly surprised how close it was to everything. We didn't spend much time inside but when we did get back, it was really relaxing. Very little street noise. Would recommend it to family and friends.
