Pacific Grove,
known as America’s last home town, was once a summer retreat for
many who would escape the heat of the San Joaquin Valley.
You may want to
make a modern day version of the annual retreat to Pacific Grove
made by many in the late 1800’s. Step back in time, as you enter
this charming Pacific Grove Victorian home built in 1896. The
"Charlotte Saal" house greets you with a sunny front porch and
bay windows. It has high ceilings and original wooden floors
throughout and offers approximately 730 square feet.
The house
comfortably sleeps four with a queen size, Select Comfort Sleep
Number 5000, and two Sealy twin beds in the guest bedroom.
Situated five
blocks from the ocean, the house is a leisurely fifteen-minute
walk to downtown or the Monterey Bay Aquarium, yet is far enough
off of the main drag to spare you the weekend crowds.
The
fully-equipped kitchen features a GE gas range, disposal,
microwave, Amana refrigerator, Bosch dishwasher and
high-efficiency Miele Washer/Dryer. There is also a private deck
where you can enjoy breakfast in the morning sun. The bathroom
has an antique claw-foot tub/shower combination.
While the
owners of this property have lovingly made every effort to be
true to the history of this lovely cottage, they have also kept
your comfort foremost in mind. Amenities include unobtrusive
flat-screen digital TVs with expanded cable in the living and
bedroom areas, DVD/CD and AM/FM radio, and WiFi Internet Access.
The quaint back
yard has a terra cotta fire pit and is the perfect place to
relax or have a barbeque!
This home is
within a short distance to Lover's Point Beach, bike and kayak
rentals, and restaurants on the bay. The bike trail will lead
you to Asilomar Beach and Point Pinos Lighthouse in one
direction and Cannery Row and Monterey in the other. A short
walk to town will find you in the midst in of Pacific Grove, its
wonderful shops and restaurants.
